My father was stationed at Camp Livingston during WWII. I have a scrapbook that he compiled as well as some photos that were taken by the US Army Signal Corp. Dad worked as a medic, I believa and in the pharmacy. His name is (Sgt) James Zitella. He is 88 years old, and has senile dementia, nut at times is able to recall stories of his time there. His wife, Verma, worked as a housekeeper for one of the officers. She was my Dad’s first wife, and died before I was born so I do not have many details.
The one story that I remember him telling many times was the one about his transfers. Whenever his file came up for transfer, his “Captain” would say ” I’ll take Jimmy’s. And he spent his entire career there.
I would be happy to donate the memorabilia I have to the camp if you would like it.
