What a wonderful discovery! In November of 1942 I was born at Camp Livingston, where I would spend the next 3 months of my life. Since there were countless babies in the camp, my bed was a dresser drawer which was somehow attached to a rocking chair. I was a colicky baby and my dad would rock the chair with his foot off and on all night to keep me quiet. My father, Melvin James Larson, was raised in Wisconsin, and was stationed with the 32nd. I grew up fascinated by the few stories he shared with me regarding his nearly 4 years overseas. Since his death in 1987 I have been scrounging for more info on the 32nd, but have found very little info available, as so many of our beloved soldiers are still alive. It would be wonderful to hear from anyone who could tell me more about the camp in 1942 or about the 32nd.
