No thats likely the US Marshals Urban Training Village that has a fenced in area in the middle of the camp. The area is marked red on my maps. If you try to go in the fenced in area or fool around near the fence they will likely run you off. The gate on A st is open in the day but marked keep out. After about 5pm its closed. The fence on A st has some plastic woven in it to stop you from taking photos. The fence on the back doesnt. I had not posted any photos online yet but since they have a sign up telling what it is I guess its ok to do so. I see stories on the net about this but its clear the people posting them have not visted the area because it is not a prision and its not run by the Army. Its clear to me that it is really what the sign says since the Army uses Camp Beaureguard down the road behind WalMart. I would think they would do all training inside Camp Beaureguard not in a park where anyone can see them. Also this is not a FEMA area since FEMA uses Camp Beaureguard durring huricanes.
The Forest Service site list it as “U.S. Marshall Service Use Area” and it is closed to Motorized Use. If anyone has seen a map of this area that shows it going past the fence I would like to see it.
The rest of the camp is run by the Forestry service and is open to everyone.

Shooting is not allowed in the Camp (36 CFR 261.10(d))
I have in the past seen signs posted near the swimming pool area but its a standard policy in all of Kisatchie National Forest. They only post signs around the hunter camps but they need to post more signs inside the camp..

Sec. (36 CFR 261.10(d)) Occupancy and use.
The following are prohibited anywhere in the Kisatchie National Forest
(d) Discharging a firearm or any other implement capable of taking human life, causing injury, or damaging property as follows:
(1) In or within 150 yards of a residence, building, campsite, developed recreation site or occupied area, or
(2) Across or on a National Forest System road or a body of water adjacent thereto, or in any manner or place whereby any person or property is exposed to injury or damage as a result in such discharge.
You would call the Forest service law enforcement to report a violation because the Game Warden and the local police can not enforce this.
See this link for info.

It is interesting to note that this rule makes it against federal law for hunters to hunt on FS land that is next to your land. If your land is occupied or has trails on it….Home hardware has Hunter Safety zone signs you can buy to post on your property lines. You have to write in 150 yards and (36 CFR 261.10(d)) on the blanks.
New photos from old camp booklet
I think I saw that but it was on a LPB LA Maneuvers special. You might check with the LPB website and see if you can buy a copy of those specials.
