Alot of the comments about the Camp Livingston area, are just not true – lots of misinformation. The Us Marshall Service has “use” of an area within Camp Livingston, by way of a Special Use permit with the Forest Service. This area is for training purposes, and they have been allowed to develop an “urban village” type setting, they often hold high speed chases, etc so that law enforcement officers can be trained. The La National Guard also has a special use permit with the FS to do some training, staging, etc on specific sites. Even the Waterworks Plant is on FS property, but they have a special use permit to operate that plant (left over from Livingston days).
